Regarding the gender of the nakshatras there are slightly different viewpoints, expressed in different textbooks. For the purpose of the charts I made use of the version given in Kalaprakashika (page 77), except in the case of .Rohini, which most authorities declare to be female. Please find here below the classification of the 27 Asterisms in the three genders. Purusha (male), Stri (female) and Napumsaka (neuter). Kalaprakashika translates Napumsaka as hermaphrodite, while more usually one finds it translated as eunuch.

It is remarkable that there are significantly more female nakshatras than male ones. Please also note that the genders given here do not correspond to the ones associated with the species.
